As we sat around our Passover Seder table this week, we talked about the ten plagues that the Lord God brought on the Egyptians to bring the release of His people. First, their water became blood. But that was not enough to change Pharaoh’s mind. Then, Moses warned Pharaoh of the second plague—frogs,

“So the river shall bring forth frogs abundantly, which shall go up and come into your house, into your bedroom, on your bed, into the houses of your servants, on your people, into the ovens, and into your kneading bowls…Then Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron, and said, ‘Entreat the LORD that He may take away the frogs from me and from my people…’ And Moses said, ‘…accept the honor of saying when I shall intercede for you…’ So he said, ‘Tomorrow.’” (Exodus 8:1-14)

So here begs the $64,000 question…Why did Pharaoh want to spend one more night with the frogs??? Why endure another twenty-four hours of slimy, croaking frogs in his room, frogs plopping on him in his bed, frogs in his breakfast bowl, the crunch of frogs under his feet with every step he took? There is an old saying, “Why put off until tomorrow what can be done today?” If I were Pharaoh, I would have said, “Right now! Five minutes ago!” But he didn’t even have faith that the God of the Israelites is the God of the now.

Psalm 95:7b-8a says, “Today, if you will hear His voice: Do not harden your hearts…” And Hebrews 3:13 also says, “but exhort one another daily, while it is called ‘Today’, lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”

Today is your day! Right now is the perfect time to entreat the Lord. Don’t spend one more night with your troubles, your worries, your frustrations, your fears, your grudges! Give them all to Yeshua. The Lord is ready, willing and able to come to your aid at this very moment. Pray and do not doubt. Do not harden your heart to think that your problems are too big or that you somehow deserve what you are suffering. God is bigger than all your problems. He wants you to be free. Believe for your deliverance. Watch for your miracle. Stand and see the salvation of our God!

Be encouraged! There is no better time like the present to call on the Lord!
