Spring has finally arrived in Israel! The trees are bursting forth with bright, green leaves and flowers. The winter rains are diminishing. I am always amazed at how the trees can remain green and fruitful through the long, hot, dry summers when there is no rain between April and October. It is because they have roots that go down deep to find the nourishing moisture in the soil. The Lord has also called us to be like trees.
“Blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, and whose hope is in the LORD. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its roots by the river, and will not fear when heat comes; but it’s leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.” (Jeremiah 17:7-8)
May you be blessed today as you trust and hope in the Lord. Don’t worry when troubles come, for your strength and nourishing sap comes from the One you are rooted in—the Lord Yeshua—not from the circumstances around you! Don’t be fearful or stressed about this hard year we’ve all been through. Don’t be alarmed by the bad news that bombards us from every side all the day. The Lord will sustain you and provide for you from His storehouse. He will help you flourish and be productive (fruitful) in all you set your hand to do as you yield your heart and life to His will. He will be like a fountain of living waters to your soul.
Drink in His rich presence today. Be encouraged in all you have to do! And don’t neglect to tap into your source of daily nourishment from God’s Word. May you find a verse that nourishes your tired and thirsty soul. May you be green and growing in your faith today.
