“It happened after this that the people of Moab…Ammon…and others…came to battle against Jehoshaphat…and Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah…Then Jehoshaphat stood in the…house of the LORD…and said, “…O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude…nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are on You.”…Then the Spirit of the LORD came upon Jahaziel…a Levite…and he said, ‘…You will not need to fight in this battle. Position yourselves and stand still and see the salvation of the LORD, who is with you…Do not fear or be dismayed…’ And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground…worshipping the LORD. This is the formula for waging spiritual warfare against our enemy when he comes against us with all kinds of trouble:

  • Seek the Lord and fast,
  • Get ready to fight,
  • Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness,
  • Watch the Lord fight for you,
  • Bless the Lord!

Our worship is a mighty weapon! When we yield our strength to God and worship Him, He comes and inhabits our praise and that is when He works best on our behalf. There is power in worship! There is healing in worship! There is release from bondage in worship! There is freedom in worship! There is victory in worship! It may seem illogical to sing praises when you are being bombarded, but it confuses the enemy and puts him to flight. And when the Lord brings a great breakthrough on your behalf, don’t forget to thank Him and bless His name!

May you be filled with the joy of the Lord today as you open your mouth and heart to worship the beauty of His holiness. May you see great and awesome victory over all you are struggling with today!
