Everyone is going through something. We each have our own stories of struggles, trials and burdens that we don’t think anyone else can understand. We each have hurts, failures and frustrations that we often try to keep hidden in secret places of our hearts, hoping that no one else but God can see them. And we all have the same crafty enemy who takes full advantage of these weaknesses to wreak havoc in our lives. The devil does not fight fair. He comes at us from multiple angles with a wide arsenal of weapons—depression, discouragement, stress, loneliness, sickness, fear, and many other ways (these are the weapons he has been using against my family lately; your struggles may be different).

But the LORD doesn’t play games or concoct strategies to combat the sly schemes of the devil. He comes against him with only one approach—a full-on frontal assault of total and absolute victory! “If God is for us, who can stand against us!” (Romans 8:28) God’s word to His people, Israel, is the same yesterday, today and forever. It is a word for you right now,

“Hear, O Israel (or Child of God): Today you are on the verge of battle with your enemies Do not let your heart faint, do not be afraid, and do not tremble or be terrified because of them; for the LORD your God is He who goes with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.” Deuteronomy 20:3-4

You don’t have to sit there and take what the devil is trying to throw at you. Yes, he is a formidable adversary, but our God is greater. And our Lord has given us His Word and His armor as a weapon to stand against the enemy. It may look like the devil has the upper hand for a while, and you may have some real wounds that will need to be tended to, but ultimately, there is only one outcome for those who are fighting the fight of faith and standing on God’s promises–total victory. And the devil knows that he is already defeated.

Are you or your family in a struggle for your peace, your health, your well-being? Stand up and call on the Lord. Cry out to Him for everything you are going through. Stand your ground against the enemy of your soul. Declare God’s promises and God’s Word to him. He will cower and flee. There is no way he can stand against the Lord’s full-on frontal assault of victory.

“May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; may the Name of the God of Jacob defend you…Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He will answer from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand…Save, LORD! May the King answer us when we call.” Psalm 20:1,6,9

The battle is already won! The victory is already secured! Don’t feel stymied. Declare your victory in the name of the Lord and step forward in your walk of faith today.
