Have you ever wished you could read someone’s mind, to know what they REALLY thought about you? Proverbs talks a lot about seeking the wisdom of God. But what is true wisdom? And how do we find it? Have you ever said, “Lord, I just don’t know what to do! I don’t understand what You want!”?
Well, 1 Corinthians 2 says that the wisdom of God is a great mystery that the world can’t understand. But we have been given access to the very mind of God through His Spirit. The Holy Spirit searches out the deep thoughts of God. In our natural minds we can’t make sense of it—it is foolishness or illogical. But in our spirit we CAN know and understand what God is thinking. We can judge rightly what God wants for us. Verse 16 says,
“For ‘who has known the mind of the LORD that he may instruct Him?’ But we have the mind of Christ.”
In essence, we have been given the gift to read the very mind of God! God is not so unapproachable that He doesn’t want us to learn about Him. He WANTS us to know Him in a close and intimate way. He says in Psalm 32:8, “I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will guide you with My eye.” You might say, “That’s nice, but I haven’t learned how to read God’s mind yet. How can I learn to understand what He wants?” I’m glad you asked…I will refer you to Romans 12:1-3,
“I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but BE TRANSFORMED BY THE RENEWING OF YOUR MIND, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God. For I say…not to THINK more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each on a measure of faith.”
So, as you submit yourself to God and serve Him as a living sacrifice, He will give you faith to think like He does. He will transform your mind to know and understand what He REALLY thinks about you (wonderful thoughts!), what He wants for you and what He has called you to do. His Holy Spirit will open up your mind to all the wonders and mysteries of God Himself. He will give you the mind of Christ. Isn’t that awesome!?
I pray that your mind will be renewed today to know the height, the depth and the breadth of the wisdom and the love of God in your spirit!
