Most computers of today are equipped with firewall protection. This necessary software filters out harmful viruses and other malware that can cause catastrophic damage to the computer systems. It would be foolish to operate your computer without a good firewall running in it.

We, too, need firewall protection for our lives. It would be foolish, even dangerous, for us to go through our day without a strong barrier to filter out the fiery darts of the devil who prowls around like a lion, seeking whom he may destroy. Where do we get firewall protection for our body, soul and spirit? There is only one source to consider for ultimate coverage–the Lord Himself!

The prophet Zechariah 2:1-5 saw a man with a measuring stick going to measure the walls of Jerusalem. But an angel with a message from the Lord ran to him and said, “Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls, because of the multitude of men and livestock in it. For I, says the LORD, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.”
You’re probably wondering why I’m telling you this…what does this have to do with you? Well, turn to Psalm 125:1-2…

“Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.”

As you trust in the Lord, He will establish you and surround you with His divine wall of fire to keep you safe from the enemy. God is on your side. He will protect you and watch over you.  He will bless you and multiply you within. And He will fill you with His glory and establish you forever as a holy habitation for His presence. You shall not be moved.

“Sing and rejoice, O daughter of Zion! For behold, I am coming and I will dwell in your midst,” says the LORD. Many nations [this includes you] shall be joined to the LORD in that day, and they shall become My people. And I will dwell in your midst.” (Zechariah 2:10-11)

Stand tall for the LORD! YOU are His prized possession—the apple of His eye. Be glad and worship your King in all that you do. Welcome Him into your midst as you start each day. And make sure His holy firewall is surrounding you in every moment of it.
